Description:

In 2015, the Ultra Trail of the Schist Villages has a distance of around 112 km of distance and 6045 meters of accumulated positive gain. In this edition the start and finish will be in Miranda do Corvo, in the Square José Falcão, where will be installed all the logistic center of the race. The first Schist Village to be visited will be the Gondramaz, allowing athletes enjoy a beautiful single-track, although hard and technical, in their first kilometers. Arriving at the village is time to move to the sides of Lousã and here the most awaited moment will undoubtedly going through the "Amazon", as it is known that location. The route goes to the Castle of Lousã and Natural Pools and continuesin a trail parallel to a water channel, almost to the village of Candal. After Candal are only about 3 km to the village of Cerdeira.Continuing, it's time to go through the Schist Villages of municipality of Góis, more precise and respectively by Aigra Nova, Comareira and Pena. From this last village begins the climb to the highest point of the entire route, then descending to Castanheira de Pêra. Taking the Northwest direction for Ameal, rises after by a fantastic single-track at the beginning of the Wind park on top of Lousã Mountain, and continues in the direction of the House of the Forest Guard. It is when begins the descent to the villages of Catarredor and Vaqueirinho, and then to the Schist Villages of Talasnal and Casal Novo. Then the route goes for "Terreiro das Bruxas", from where it rises to the Vila Nova Wind Farm, already in the municipality of Miranda do Corvo, then reaching the Fluvial Beach of Louçainha (Municipality of Penela). When it's missing just a dozen kilometers to the end of the route it goes into Vila Nova, where the Trail Centre of Vila Nova is located, heading back to the Square José Falcão in Miranda do Corvo.
